The current settings for the artistic modes are pretty useless to me... that said, if occlusion/shading was included in a way to look natural and provide a sense of depth, I think they could be beautiful. I like the pen settings with line extensions turned on, but to get the look I like, I have to render a B&W 'normal' render, and then render an artistic line render, and merge them in photoshop. It looks great that way, but it is a pain to do each time. Seems like this would be easy to do within Enscape for 1-click export.
Although we agree that the aesthetics of mixing ambient occlusion shading with pen/pencil model rendering are great, we don't see a wide demand for this kind of rendering right now.
Nevertheless, we will keep observing feedback and trends to extend the functionality of our artistic modes.
