The online platform for Enscape users to submit, vote, and collaborate on creative suggestions.
Enscape currenly limits and downsamples any material maps and offers no support for high quality 4k+ maps which are common throughout the industry. The decrease in material map resolution is easily noticeable vs other competing render software. A user should be able to manage their machine's memory and performance limits without Enscape dictating an artificial lower end hardware limit.
Although we could see that high resolution textures could be helpful for the design process, our main goal is still to keep the performance and usability of Enscape at a high level.
That being said, removing downsampling would immediately cause issues for all users that are not experienced enough to set texture resolutions properly for the available hardware.
Can you elaborate a little on the use case? Is it simply to improve the rendering quality or do you need some material close ups for decision making?
