This would be a huge time saver for us. We use white mode a lot and rarely move to full color as our client budget's rarely want to pay for the extra time involved.
1. Currently bump maps do not work for glass materials in white mode, it only works in full color. Making it difficult to show effects like ribbed glass without being in full color mode. This would allow us to select glazing that uses bump maps to be "in color" and correctly show the bump mapping while the rest of the model stays white.
2. Our projects often only focus on small areas like kitchens, bathrooms, bedrooms while less critical areas are kept untextured to save the client time and money. Currently we have to manually adjust the entire model to have "white" textures if we are only coloring a kitchen, which is a big time sink. Other clients prefer to keep the model in white mode the whole time, only wanting to see materials for key objects.
