I use a similar workflow with 3ds Max and V-Ray; applying a neutral "white" material globally and then a tinted glass material for all the glazing. Currently Enscape for Revit does this automatically but replaces the glazing texture with clear glass. Another technique we've used in the past is to apply a neutral white material to all of the context but leave the material selection of the architecture alone so our clients can focus on the material selection and not the context.
