Selectable Ray Traced lights

I would like to request the ability to selectively enable Ray Traced Artificial Lights on a per-fitting basis.

At the moment, RTAL appears to improve the behaviour of some fittings while making others look noticeably worse. In the example images, the ground lights pointing inward produce a very clean and accurate result without RTAL. The lighting is smooth, controlled, and free from the noise introduced when RTAL is enabled. In this case, the non-RTAL result is clearly preferable.

However, the wall-mounted fittings show the opposite behaviour. Without RTAL, the facade lighting has a visible cutoff that looks unnatural and is not acceptable for presentation or design evaluation. When RTAL is enabled, these fittings behave much more realistically and the light distribution appears as expected.

This creates a situation where neither global setting is ideal. Some fittings benefit from RTAL, while others perform better without it.

A strong solution would be to add a toggle within the Light Management browser that allows users to choose which individual fittings use RTAL. This would give much greater control over render quality and allow the user to optimise results depending on the fitting type and application.

Alternatively, improving the cutoff behaviour of non-RTAL lights would also help resolve the issue, particularly for facade-mounted fittings where the current result is too harsh and visibly incorrect.

Either of these improvements would make the lighting workflow far more flexible and would significantly improve the quality and reliability of rendered results.

    Hi John!
Thanks for reaching out and for the detailed feedback.
To investigate the lighting issue you're experiencing, it would be a great help if you could share the project file with us. This will allow our developers to take a closer look at the problem and identify the best possible solution.
Please let me know if that's something you'd be able to provide.

    All the best,

    Mehmet
