Use older versions

In the release notes for version 4.4 it says older versions of Enscape will be removed.

It seems the makers of Enscape have no experience with the actual building process. From the initiative to completion can take many years, depending on the size. During that time, it's not a good idea to upgrade the various project files to the latest and greatest Revit version. You'll be bitten sooner or later. That's why we like to stick to the same Revit version throughout the process. Renderings are not made during the design phase only - interior architects can (and will) change things to the last minute and thus create renderings throughout the whole process.

Lets suppose we started working on a building in 2020 using Revit 2021. Completion of the building is scheduled for early 2026. As of 2025, Enscape 4.4 will not support Revit 2021. So how are we supposed to create renderings fro 2025 and onwards? Keep a pc for each version of Revit and Enscape? Temporarily upgrade a model in a newer version of Revit just to make some renderings? Cumbersome at least.

So why not use a simple solution: Install each version of Enscape in it's own folder. Add it to the versions of Revit installed at that time. Problem solved.

While we fully understand your situation, the solution is not quite easy.
The reason why we are not supporting older host application versions with new Enscape versions is not related to the folder structure or any other technical factor. It is solely caused by resources.
Supporting a host application version requires intensive testing of each feature by our QA team and (potentially) bug fixes by the development team. As the time of those colleagues is limited, we need to make the cut somewhere.
We are aware that this might be unfortunate in some situations where projects just take long. But in these scenarios you still have the option to stick with an older Enscape version that supports your respective host application version.
