When editing custom assets, live updates during image uploads and color changes use too much memory and slow things down. A pause button in the asset editor, like in the render window, would help
If the live updates in the Custom Asset Editor are already using too much memory, this is a strong sign that the geometry or materials are too complex and that the Custom Asset will also cause issues when running Enscape.
It's not the custom asset editor itself it's the imported model. Sometimes I import models that are around 30mb and also have max, autocad, revit, enscape renderer, enscape custom asset editor all open at the same time.
Some of my imported models will have 10+ different materials, each material having 2-3 texture images to load. You can imagine how annoying it is to have the model in the asset editor load 30 times, even if it's just a second to reload, still would be better to have that pause button in my opinion.
This sounds odd to us as the Custom Asset Editor usually does not eat up too much memory.
Can you share your system specifications, Enscape version and the size of the Custom Asset you are working on for troubleshooting reasons?
