I am sorry, but I will place here several ideas because all of them are related to the recent Light Management tool. And yes, some of them were already pointed out like groups, but these 6 make sense altogether after a month working with them…
Finally a tool not for renders but for creators working light and space. Thank you for this incredible tool!!
We’d love to have light indicators that only show when “Show ON only” is enabled. This way, when we’re setting ambient lighting and editing individual lights, we can focus on those specific lights without distractions.
The “Show Visible Only” feature is great for icons that represent the distance to the observer. It would be fantastic to have an option to scale all icons while keeping their size consistent relative to the distance.
It would be helpful if a single right-click could open options besides “Create Issue”, “Show BIM data”, and more. Editing lights is super important, so we should have options like “On/Off,” “Enable/Disable,” “Group/Ungroup,” “Rename,” and “Visible/Invisible in Reflections.” It would be great if we could avoid entering menus for these options.
Creating groups is essential because editing lights is always done in groups. We need to be able to turn on lights as we would in real life, where a single button triggers multiple lights. Grouping should be done by the authoring software and should be two-way.
With a preset chosen, should be easy to select its On lights and invert it. Most projects have hundreds of lights audit does not make sense to have a flat folder with all of them. Please add folder system to organize lights for the preset, the groups and all lights.
Presets are a great tool, but we’d like to extend them by adding other lights with groups. For example, if space A has its lights on in a preset, we should be able to duplicate that preset to add other groups of lights, like from space B. Light creation is crucial for architects and interior designers, so please remember that this Light Management tool is designed for projects, not just for render outputs.
Color should have common colors available for lights in real life like LED/Halogen/CFL/Incandescent/Candle and kelvin values options like warm/neutral/cool temperatures at least. Choosing a real light should be easy and already set inside color.
