Cosmos browser needlessly complicates what was once simple and a non-issue asset library. Many firms operate out of a server / have fire wall restrictions. Rendering is a language many are already struggling to adopt and understand, now is immensely complicated now that assets sometimes load and sometimes do not! for no other reason than connectivity / firewall restrictions. For a plain user who's not versed in IT, and even those versed in IT, Cosomos browser has already caused enough Chaos (Pun intended) and set backs we have reverted from latest enscape back to version 4. Please remove the connectivity requirement for assets, typical users dont have enough time as it is to create rendering let alone trouble shoot why assets were working before, and after no change, are not. Thanks for your time.
Thank you for sharing this feedback - we understand how frustrating connectivity issues and firewall restrictions can be, especially when they interrupt workflows.
Removing the Cosmos browser or the online requirement isn’t possible. This cloud-based approach is part of the long-term direction for Enscape, and while today’s implementation has limitations, it will ultimately allow us to deliver a more powerful and scalable asset experience.
That said, we definitely recognize the current challenges, especially for teams working behind strict IT policies. One option that can help is downloading the Cosmos library for offline use. This avoids the connectivity requirement and ensures consistent asset loading regardless of network/firewall conditions. You can find instructions here:
