While I understand Chaos wants to keep Enscape simple and move animated assets to Envision, I don’t believe this is entirely right. I recognise that animated crowds with pathing are hard to integrate, but if tree leaves and water can move with the wind, there should be an option for simple, in‑place character animations—e.g., a person idly moving their hands or face—without additional asset adjustments, maybe just a couple of people that move their hands. I tested Envision and found it not close to Enscape in terms of speed or final results; I experienced lighting glitches, and learning a new tool with a new set of commands just to get a few people or cars moving doesn’t feel worthwhile for most of our projects. Please consider simple asset animations in Enscape, while reserving complex crowd/path features for Envision. Thank you
Hi Matias,
Thank you for sharing your thoughts, we appreciate your feedback. Although we understand that many would love to add more realism to the Enscape experience through animated assets, this is not something we are currently considering. It goes against our goal of keeping Enscape real-time, easy to use, and focused on supporting design decisions rather than creating visualizations.
We also see that even a limited approach, like simple, in-place character animations, tends to open the door to expectations for more complex behaviors such as movement, interactions, or pathing. These would introduce significant performance and workflow complexity that runs counter to Enscape’s core purpose. Also would be only addressing half of the request.
