Asset Origin and Orientation Control when Linking Assets to Revit Families

Linking Assets to Revit Families is unique and powerful Enscape feature. However, origin and orientation of Enscape Assets and Revit Families is not predictable. Allowing Revit user to subsequently modify the origin and orientation of an Enscape asset allows user to create documentation that is correct for and accurate for scheduling purposes, while creating high fidelity renderings in Enscape, fully coordinated to the BIM file.

Although we understand the struggles with different Asset orientations, this is not an improvement we are planning to work on in the near future.

All Enscape Assets are using the same orientation and are therefore predictable. Adding complex UI for individual rotation modifications that need to be saved consistently on object base would be a rather large effort for an issue that exists on the host application side.

Additionally, with the integration works of Chaos Cosmos, this would be another moving piece in another complex topic we are working on right now.

Thanks for your context and response. The challenge for Revit users is that it's not possible to predict or modify the origin and orientation of parametric Revit family components. Altering dimensional parameters and orientation breaks important functionality to the component. Do you think it is possible for a savvy end user to alter the origin and orientation of an Enscape asset? I would appreciate a brief discussion with someone on how this might be possible for the end user to modify the origin and orientation of an Enscape asset. Thanks!
