V-Ray is the industry standard when it comes to rasterized rendering. Despite the limitations of real time rendering, Enscape provides a much faster workflow for testing visuals on the fly. Because the interoperability (while improving some of late) is poor between V-Ray and Enscape, projects often end up in "Enscape only" or "V-Ray only" phases. Getting materials to work seamlessly between the two would be a huge step in actually being able to preserve both workflows, allowing users to get much more out of using Enscape on a project.
